Aromatherapy oils for milk production

I have an aromatherapy book, and i was curious if there was an oil combo for increasing milk production. sure enough, there is!

I don't have these oils (of course e_e) but here's for anyone who likes alternative medicine (i think we all do on here) who wants to get into oils, or already has some.

Massage Oils to Increase the Flow of Breast Milk:

Fennel.........15 drops
or
Geranium.......15 drops
or
Clary-sage.....10 drops

in 2 TABLEspoons good quality vegetable or nut oil.

Only use one essential oil, don't mix them. Massage in circular motions starting from under the arm, working inward and downward and then up between the cleavage. Do this once a day, remembering to wash all the oil off before breast feeding.

There are more massage oils for breast care. One for cracked nipples and breast abscess.

If anyone is going to do this, make sure you have REAL oils, not fragrance oils.

That looks interesting - must go out shopping now and give it a try. Nicer too than just massaging your breasts dry, and of course the oils will help to keep breasts soft and prevent cracking I would think.

emoticon yeah, it'll moisturize the skin. IDK if you have a Whole Foods store near you, but that's where i got my Almond Oil. The oils will be expensive, but i think it helps with something priceless, and even afterward, you can use the oils for a romantic massage, or warm them in a dish for relaxing, or even if you wanna take a relaxing bath!

I have some oils, but i only bought them for romantic massage. ^__^ (Rose, Jasmine, Sandalwood) i have a few fragrance oils, too (Honey suckle, dragon's blood, orange) but they can't be used for medicinal purposes.

Momiji - right, I've bought all the oils - how many times a day for how long would you massage with these oils? I have been doing it occasionally dry, but not for many minutes, so for the best results I really need to know what you would recommend?

Thanks

Jen

once a day. Do the massage until it sinks in your skin, like lotion, but if that doesn't happen, three minutes for each breast should be okay. I really hope this works for you!

I had a scar (well, now two)on my left wrist from surgery, and i mixed one drop of lavender oil with my scar-healing-gel to help speed up the process. It worked to do it faster, but i don't think the gel made a good base, because i got itchy bumps on my wrist until i stopped using the lavender.

Now that i have base oil i should try it again. Didn't think of that, lol.
